In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and the Random House/ National Education Association (NEA) second annual Read Across America our kindergarten, first, and second graders read Dr. Seuss books together this afternoon. (A big thanks to Miss Troha for selecting all of the books for us to use!) The kids had a great time and it was nice to see some of the reading group strategies being used! I overheard, "try chunking that word", "skip it and come back to it", and "just sound it out slowly"! The kids were so patient with each other and shared nicely to boot. What a nice way to spend the rainy afternoon.
